Bangladesh announces T20I squad for India series , Mehidy Hasan recalled

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced their 15 member squad for the 3 match T20I series against India which is schedule to begin from October 6th onwards. All-rounder Mehidy Hasan return to the squad after a gap of 14 months.

Left hand opening batter Parvez Hossain Emon and left arm spinner Rakibul Hasan have also been called up in the squad. Left hand batter Soumya Sarkar and left arm spinner Tanvir Ahmed , who were part of the last T20 World Cup failed to retain their spot in the squad.

While Former Bangladesh captain and allrounder Shakib Al Hasan announces his retirement from T20Is and expressed his desire to retire from tests after the end of home series against South Africa in Mirpur next month.

However , If Shakib is unable to play the Mirpur test against South Africa next month the ongoing series against India will be his last series in whites for Bangladesh.

Bangladesh Cricket Board made changes in almost every departments in the squad.

“The great Shakib Al Hasan has already announced that he has played his last T20I for Bangladesh. We don’t have anyone to replace his experience and performance but we feel that Mehidy Hasan Miraz is a good batter who can handle the middle order. Mehidy can play as a batter. We didn’t picked him in the previous [T20] World Cup as we usually feel that he has a strong role as an allrounder in Tests and ODIs,” BCB chief selector Gazi Ashraf Hossain said.

Bangladesh Squad:- Najmul Hossain Shanto (captain) , Tanzid Hasan Tamim , Parvez Hossain Emom , Tawhid Hridoy , Mahmud Ullah , Litton Das , Jaker Ali Anik , Mehidy Hasan Miraz , Shak Mahedi Hasan , Rishad Hossain , Mustafizur Rahman , Taskin Ahmed , Shoriful Islam , Tanzim Hasan Sakib , Rakibul Hasan.
