BCB to take call on Shakib after Rawalpindi test (Image Credit:- X)

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Faruque Ahmed on saturday (Aug 24^th) said they will take decision on Shakib Al Hasan future after the ongoing Rawalpindi test against Pakistan.

On Thursday, Shakib was named in a murder case filed by Rafiqul Islam, the father of garment factory worker Rubel who was killed on August 5 in Dhaka’s Adabor.

Shajib Mahmood Alam, a lawyer of the Supreme Court , sent a legal notice to the BCB on Saturday through email and registered post on behalf of Advocate Md Rafinur Rahman, asking for the removal of Shakib from all ‘forms’ of cricket with immediate effect.

According to a report in Cricbuzz , since Shakib has been named in the case, he cannot remain in national cricket team according to the rules of International Cricket Council.

However BCB President Faruque Ahmed, who was involved in a long meeting with some of the board directors denied that any legal notice has been sent to them.

“Look the FIR is just the first information letter and they are yet to claim any charge as far as I know and before that it is difficult to take a decision. Look the relationship with BCB and Shakib Al Hasan is like player and an employer according to contract and after tomorrow we can think exactly after getting the legal notice and based on that. I cannot withdraw him from middle of the test match.

“You know that the second test match is on August 30 and we will take in between as there is a gap and we can think what can be done in this regard,” BCB President Faruque Ahmed said.
