Elected to field first Punjab Kings pacer Kagiso Rabada dismissed Gujarat Titans opener Wriddhiman Saha (11 runs from 13 balls) off the last ball of third over. Captain Shubman Gill played a captains innings by scoring 89* runs from just 48 balls including 6 fours and 4 sixes.

Kane Willamson replaced David Miller who will miss IPL 2024 for 2 weeks due to injury. Willamson walks to bat at No.3 scored 26 runs from 22 balls. Sai Sudharsan (33 runs from 19 balls) and cameo of Rahul Tewatia (23* runs from 8 balls) helped Gujarat to reach 199/4.
