Mohammad Siraj (4/84 in 21.1 overs) , Yashasvi Jaiswal (104* from 133 balls) and Shubman Gill (65* runs from 120 balls) put India in a strong position in day 3 of third test. India lead by 322 runs at end of day’s play.

Resumed from the overnight score of 207/2 England bowled out for 319 in their first innings. Jasprit Bumrah given India first breakthrough by dismissing Joe Root (18 runs from 31 balls). Kuldeep Yadhav then dismissed Jonny Bairstow for a duck and centurion Ben Duckett (153 runs from 151 balls) in the first session of play.

India pushed England further back by dismissing their captain Ben Stokes (41 runs from 89 balls) and Ben Foakes (13 runs from 37 balls) quickly in post lunch session. India finally bowled England out for 319 and took 126 runs first innings lead.

Mohammad Siraj picked 4 wickets for 84 runs in his 21.1 overs. Ravindra Jadeja (2/51 in 10 overs) , Kuldeep Yadhav (2/77 in 18 overs) , Ravichandran Ashwin (1/37 in 7 overs) and Jasprit Bumrah (1/54 in 15 overs) are the other wicket takers for India.

Offspinner Ashwin withdrawn from the test match due to family emergency. India need to play the rest of this test match with only 10 players. Devdutt Padikkal substitute Ashwin on Day 3.

Yashasvi Jaiswal century and Shubman Gill’s unbeaten half century took India to 196/2 , lead by 322 runs. Unfortunately Jaiswal retired hurt on 104. Rajat Patidar (0 run from 10 balls) once again missed the opportunity. Root trapped Indian captain Rohit Sharma in front of the stumps for 19.

Shubman Gill (65* runs from 120 balls) and Kuldeep Yadhav (3* runs from 15 balls) were at the crease and resume the innings for India on Day 4.

Tom Hartley (1/42 in 15 overs) and Joe Root (1/48 in 14 overs) are the wicket takers for England so far in second innings.
