Ben Duckett (133* runs from 118 balls) century leads England fight back on Day 2 of third test. In reply to India’s first innings total of 445 they finished day 2 on 207/2. Duckett and Joe Root (9* runs from 13 balls) will resume innings for England on Day 3.

Debutant Dhruv Jurel (46 runs from 104 balls) , Ravichandran Ashwin (37 runs from 89 balls) and Jasprit Bumrah (26 runs from 28 balls) innings helped India to reach 445 after the fall of Jadeja (112 runs from 225 balls) and Kuldeep Yadhav (4 runs from 24 balls) early on the day.

Mark Wood was the pick of England bowlers by picking 4 wickets for 114 runs in his 27.5 overs. Rehan Ahmed (2/85 in 22 overs) , James Anderson (1/65 in 21 overs) , Joe Root (1/70 in 16 overs) and Tom Hartley (1/109 in 40 overs) are the other wicket takers for England.

England begin their innings 5/0 without facing a ball after India were hit with a 5 run penalty because Jadeja on Day 1 and Ashwin on Day 2 ran on the protected area of the pitch while batting.

Ben Duckett given England off to to a flying start in reply to India’s total of 445. He reached his half century in just 38 balls. Ashwin broke the strong opening stand and achieved the land mark of picking 500 test wickets by dismissing Zak Crawley for 15.

Ollie Pope (39 runs from 55 balls) and Ben Duckett added 93 runs from just 103 balls for the second wicket before Mohammad Siraj trapped Pope in front of the stumps to give India the second break through.

Ben Duckett’s outstanding century shift the momentum to England’s way on Day 2. India will looks to bounce back on Day 3.
