Mahmudullah returns to Bangladesh Squad (Image Credit:- X)

Bangladesh allrounder Mahmudullah returns to the T20I and ODI squad for the Srilanka tour. Regular captain Shakib Al Hasan was left out of T20I and ODI squad because of eye problem. Najmul Hossain Shanto replaced Shakib as captain in all formats.

“Shakib has been our first choice as captain always but his vision problem made him unavailable for Bangladesh at this moment. We had discussion with him but he couldn’t confirm his availability in the upcoming Srilanka series,” BCB president Nazmul Hassan said.

Veteran player Mahmudullah made a come back into the squad after his outstanding performance in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League. His last appearance for Bangladesh in T20I was against Srilanka during the Asia Cup in Dubai.

Off-spinner Aliss Islam earned his maiden call-up to the national T20I squad. Mohammad Naim , Anamul Haque , Taijul Islam and Taskin Ahmed also returns to the squad.

BCB also announced squad for the first two ODIs. Afif , Mahmud and Rakibul Hassan lost their place in the squad to Mahmudullah , Taskin and Taijul.

The 3 match T20I series will begin on March 4th and ODI series on March 13th.
