
Pakistan captain Fatima Sana received a 10% of her match fee and received one demerit point for her send off to Shafali Verma. The incident happened when Fatima Sana dismissed Shafali Verma during the Women’s T20 Asia Cup match in Dubai on Saturday. She breached Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct.
It was her second offence in the last 24 months taking Fatima Sana’s total to two demerit points under ICC rules. Previously she received one demerit point during a T20I against Ireland in Dublin in August 2025.

During India’s chase, Shafali Verma gave a return catch to Fatima Sana. Sana then pointed towards the pavilion as she celebrated Shafali Verma’s wicket. She was found guilty of breaching Article 2.5 which states that “using languages, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon dismissal”.
Level 1 breaches carry an official warning or up to 50% match fee fine with one or two demerit points possible.

On-field umpires Nimali Perera and Shathira Jakir charged Fatima Sana after the incident during the match involving Shafali Verma. Third umpire Rokeya Sultana and fourth umpire Rabab Ahsan also supported the decision against her. She admitted the offence and accepted the punishment given by match referee Supriya Das.
Team India beat Pakistan by seven wickets in a one sided match. India bowled Pakistan out for just 55 runs and chased the target in 8.4 overs winning comfortably with seven wickets remaining. Shree Charani won Player of the Match after taking three wickets for seven runs in her four over spell
Pakistan then beat Hong Kong by 72 runs to reach the semifinal of the Asia Cup 2026. Batting first, Pakistan set Hong Kong a target of 144 runs before bowling them out for just 71 runs. Nashra Sandhu’s excellent figures of 6/7 in 4 overs earned her the Player of the Match.
As group toppers, India have already qualified for the first semi final which will be played on Thursday.
