Pollard to coach England team for T20 World Cup

Former West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard appointed as assistant coach for England cricket team ahead of 2024 T20 world cup which is scheduled to be held in West Indies and USA. England won the previous T20 world cup in Australia in 2022.

Pollard who played more than 600 T20 matches announced his retirement from International cricket and IPL. He has been part of the Mumbai Indians coaching staff as the batting coach. He was part of West Indies 2012 world cup winning team.

England won the T20 World cup twice in 2010 and in 2022. The 2024 T20 world cup will be played from June 24 to 30. It will be the 9th edition and 20 teams will participate in the competition.

“Former West Indies captain Kieron Pollard has been appointed to the England Men’s coaching team for the next years ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in the West Indies and United States. Pollard will join the England Men’s team specifically for the T20 World Cup as an assistant coach and to provide expertise of local conditions,” the ECB said in media release.
