Chennai Super Kings wicket Keeper batter Devon Conway ruled out of IPL 2024 with thumb injury. England fast bowler Richard Gleeson named as his replacement.

Conway fractured his left thumb during the second T20I against Australia in Auckland in February. The CSK management was hoping that he would be available for the latter half of the tournament but it was not to be.

Conway played 23 IPL matches and scored 924 runs which included 9 half centuries with strike rate of 141.28. He played a major role for CSK winning 2023 IPL title beating Gujarat Titans.

Richard Gleeson played 9 T20I matches for England and picked 9 wickets so far. In all , Glesson picked 101 wickets from 90 T20s with best bowling figures of 5/33. He will join CSK for his reserve price of Rs.50 lakhs.
