Rishabh Pant has been cleared by BCCI to play IPL 2024 as wicket keeper batter for Delhi Capitals. Pant who played last match in December 2022 before he suffered multiple injuries during a serious car.

Last month , Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal announced Pant as captain for IPL 2024 and said that Pant would play as batter alone for the first half of the season. Delhi Capitals will play their first match against Punjab Kings in Mohali on March 23rd.

“He is actually played some practice matches over the last couple of weeks, which has been really encouraging for us. I know he is worked incredibly hard on his body and his fitness to get back to the level that he is at now. He’s kept in one of those games , he’s fielded in these games and the batting has not seemingly been an issue for him so far,” Ponting said.

Indian Fast bowlers Mohammed Shami and Prasidh Krishna ruled out of the entire IPL 2024 due to injuries. Shami who last played in ICC Cricket World Cup final 2023 undergone surgery on his right heel.

Prasidh Krishna recently undergone a surgical procedure on his left proximal quadriceps tendon.
