Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan ruled out of his side’s final match in the World Cup due to injury in left index finger. Batter Anamul Haque will replace him in the squad.
Shakib injured while batting during the match against Srilanka. An x-ray taken after the match confirmed the fracture which ruled him out of the tournament. Najmul Hossain Shanto will lead the side against Australia.

Shakib scored only 186 runs from 7 innings in this World Cup at an average of 26.57. His highest score in the tournament was 82 which he scored in the last match against Srilanka.
He was involved in controversial timed out appeal which resulted Angelo Mathews becomes the first batter to be out in this fashion in International cricket.
Bangladesh eliminated from the World cup 2023 but they can qualify for Champions Trophy if they finish top 8 on the table.
