India allrounder Hardik Pandya ruled out of the World Cup 2023 due to ankle injury he suffered during the match against Bangladesh. Prasidh Krishna replaced him in the Indian squad.

Pandya injured his left ankle while bowling in the match against Bangladesh. Currently he is undergoing rehab at National Cricket Academy in Bangalore.

Prasidh Krishna who picked 29 wickets from 17 matches with an average of 25.58 replaced Hardik Pandya for the rest of the tournament. He last played for India in 3 match ODI series against Australia just before the World Cup.

Team India will miss Hardik Pandya’s allround ability. India already qualified for the semifinal with 2 more league games to go and the the only unbeaten side so far in the tournament.

India’s next match in the World Cup was against South Africa on Sunday (November 5th).
