India and West Indies head to Indore for the third T20I, where another batting paradise is expected to produce plenty of runs. A total of 501 runs were scored in Ranchi, where West Indies chased 250 runs in just 18.3 overs. Dew and extremely good batting conditions make life difficult for bowlers.
Indian coach Gautham Gambhir called for a better balance between bat and ball after the second T20I in Ranchi.
“Don’t you want a good competition between bat and ball? We want what you want. If you only want to see only sixes and fours, then we want to see that too. If you want an even contest, then we want that too,” Gambhir said.
“These bowlers are our bowlers. Their careers are also at stake. They have worked very hard to get into the dressing room. It’s not like they haven’t worked hard. So if there is even competiton, it will be good. And we will get to see better cricket too,” Gambhir added.

Fielding remains a major concern for both teams, as they continue to struggle with dropped catches and missed chances on the field. In the last match, Mayank Yadhav dropped Sherfane Rutherford when he was batting on 38. Later he played a match winning knock of 84 runs off just 37 balls, helping West Indies chase down 250. Among full member cricket nations, India have dropped the most catches (79).
Despite chasing a target of 250 runs, West Indies dropped Sanju Samson twice. They dropped Samson first when he had 6 runs and again when he was nearing his half century. He made full use of those chances, scoring 82 runs off just 41 balls.
