After series defeats against Ireland and England, India hopes to return to winning ways as the Zimbabwe series starts today. Under Shreyas Iyer’s captaincy India is yet to win a T20I match and hopes to change that against Zimbabwe.

India dropped Sanju Samson from the squad after his poor batting in the Ireland and England series. Spinner Varun Chakravarthy is injured and Ravi Bishnoi replaces him in the squad.

Wicket keeper Tafadzwa Tsiga earned his first T20I call as Wessly Madhevere and Newman Nyamhuri included in Zimbabwe squad.

Last time India toured Zimbabwe they won the series 4-1 after losing the opening match of the five match series.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi will open with Abhishek Sharma as Sanju Samson is not included in India’s squad for the series. Rinku Singh is back in the squad and may bat at number six for India as a finisher.

Harsh Dubey is likely to make his T20I debut and will be India’s spin option. Three among Prince Yadhav, Mayank Yadav, Yash Thakur and Ashok Sharma may play while Shivam Dube adds pace all-round option.
