Shafali Verma launched India’s innings in style, smashing a six off the first ball bowled by Sadia Iqbal. However, she bounced back on the fifth ball of the over, dismissing Shafali Verma for just 6 runs. India then lost Jemimah Rodrigues for just one run, leaving them under early pressure against Pakistan bowling attack.

Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur steadied India with a crucial 91 run partnership that came from just 64 balls. Mandhana played a stylish 68 off 44 balls before Rameen Shamim dismissed her. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur scored 36 runs from 35 balls including four boundaries.

Richa Ghosh’s blistering 34 off 17 balls provided the finishing momentum, helping India post 170/6 in 20 overs. Deepti Sharma contributed an unbeaten 12 runs from 9 balls.

Muneeba Ali gave Pakistan a strong start produced 52 runs during the powerplay. Alongside opening partner Gull Feroza, Muneeba Ali added 38 runs in 4.5 overs. Deepti Sharma provided India their first breakthrough by dismissing Gull Feroza for 12.

Indian bowlers struck at regular intervals, preventing Pakistan from building momentum after losing their first wicket. Muneeba Ali top scored with 41 off 35 balls before a direct hit run out from Deepti Sharma ended her innings. Pakistan were eventually bowled out for 106 runs in 17 overs, handing India a comprehensive 64 run victory.

Spinners claimed nine of Pakistan’s ten wickets, with Deepti Sharma starring brilliantly with figures of 5/10.
