Travis Head 137 and Labuschagne 58* innings helps Australia lift their sixth World Cup Title

Australia beat India by 6 wickets to lift their sixth World Cup title in Ahmedabad. After bowled India out for 240 in 50 overs they chased down the target in 43 overs with six wickets remaining. Travis Head named Player of the Match for his knock of 137 runs from 120 balls.

Elected to ball first Mitchell Starc dismissed Shubman Gill (4 runs in 7 balls) early after Rohit Sharma (47 runs from 31 balls) given India a brisk start. Travis Head took a brilliant catch in the last over of the powerplay off Glenn Maxwell to dismiss Rohit Sharma. At the end of the powerplay India were 80/2.

Australian captain Pat Cummins bowled a beautiful delivery to dismiss Shreyas Iyer (4 runs from 3 balls) in the first over after the powerplay and pushed India on the back foot. K.L.Rahul and Virat Kohli batted watchfully after the fall of two quick wickets and Australia kept things tight between 10 to 20 overs by giving just 35 runs.

Virat Kohli (54 runs from 63 balls) and K.L.Rahul done the rebuilding job by putting together 67 runs from 109 balls for the fourth wicket. Australian captain Pat Cummins timely broken the partnership by dismissing Virat Kohli for 54 when India needs the partnership to go further.

Ravindra Jadeja (9 runs from 22 balls) who was promoted ahead of Suryakumar Yadhav fell to Josh Hazlewood after putting 30 runs with K.L.Rahul in the 36th over when the score reaches 178. Pat Cummins who brought Mitchell Starc back in the 42nd over and he took the price wicket of K.L.Rahul (66 runs from 107 balls) with a peak of delivery.

Australian bowlers bowled well in the final overs and restricted India to 240 in 50 overs . India lost Mohammad Shami (6 runs from 10 balls) , Jasprit Bumrah (1 run from 3 balls) and Suryakumar Yadhav (18 runs from 28 balls) during the phase.

Mitchell Starc (3/55 in 10 overs) , Pat Cummins (2/34 in 10 Overs) , Josh Hazlewood (2/60 in 10 Overs) , Glenn Maxwell (1/35 in 6 Overs) and Adam Zampa (1/44 in 10 overs) are the wicket takers for Australia.

Australia openers started the chase by scoring 15 runs of the first over bowled by Jasprit Bumrah. Mohammad Shami who took the new ball instead of Mohammad Siraj dismissed dangerous David Warner (7 runs from 3 balls) in his first over but given away 13 runs.

Australia scored 41 runs in the first 4 overs. India pulled things back in the next 6 overs of the powerplay by picking the wickets of Mitchell Marsh (15 runs from 15 balls) and Steven Smith(4 runs from 9 balls). Jasprit Bumrah dismissed both of them. At the end of the power play Australia were 60/3.

Travis Head (137 runs from 120 balls) and Marnus Labuschagne (58* runs from 110 balls) put together a match winning partnership of 192 runs from 215 balls. Travis Head got out when Australia needed just 2 more runs to win. Glenn Maxwell finishes the games for them in first ball he faced to lift 6th World Cup title for them.

Jasprit Bumrah (2/43 in 9 overs) , Mohammad Siraj (1/45 in 7 overs) and Mohammad Shami (1/47 in 7 overs) are the wicket takers for India.
