Australia beat India by 3 wickets in first Common Wealth Games

Australia women beats India women by 3 wickets in first Common Wealth Games at Birmingham. A Gardner 52*(35) , G Harris 37(20) and A King 18*(16) helps Australia chase down 155 from 49/5 at one stage. Batted first India scored 154/8 in 20 overs.
S Varma 48(33) and H Kaur’s 52(34) helps India to post a decent total. Indian opener Smrithi Mandhana 24(17) gave India a brisk start before been dismissed by D brown. Jess Jonassen (4/22) bowls beautifully for Australia. She picked 3 wickets at final stages of the Indian innings which helped to stop the run flow in final overs. M Schutt (2/26) and D Brown (1/30) are the other wicket takers for Australia.
Renuka Singh(4/18) destroyed the Australian top order by picking four wickets. At the end of the powerplay Australia were 41/4. D Sharma dismissed R Haynes (9) to push Australia further back to 49/5. A Gardner and G Harris brought them back by scoring 51(34) for the 6th wicket. India again comeback into the game by dismissing G Harris and J Jonassen in quick sucession.
Needed 45 runs from 34 balls the unbroken 47 runs from 28 balls partnership between A Gardner and A King helps Australia cross the line. Renuka Singh (4/18) , D Sharma (2/24) and M Singh (1/38) are wicket takers for India.
