Indian middle order batters K.L.Rahul and Shreyas Iyer return to the Indian squad for the upcoming Asia Cup. Both players were out of the team for long time due to injury. Their return will boost the Indian middle order.

Shreyas Iyer has regained full fitness but K.L.Rahul on the other hand have a niggle might miss a game or two in Asia Cup. So the selectors picked Sanju Samson as a back up player.

Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna made a comeback into the ODI squad after a long injury break. Both were in the squad for T20I against Ireland. Left hand batter Tilak Varma included in the squad after his impressive performance in T20I against West Indies recently.

Leg Spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and off spinner Ravichandran Ashwin didn’t find a place in the squad.

Rohit Sharma will lead the squad with Hardik Pandya as his deputy.

The tournament will begin with Pakistan vs Nepal clash on August 30th. India will begin their campaign on September 2nd against Pakistan.
