Former Newzeland spinner and captain Daniel Vettori replaces Brain Lara as SRH head coach. He previously coached Royal Challengers Bangalore team from 2014-2018. Vettori will be the fourth head coach appointed by SRH since 2013.

In his coaching period RCB made into the playoffs in 2015 and finished runners-up in 2016. He is currently the assistant and spin bowling coach for Australian men’s team.

Sunrises finished bottom of the table in 2023 with just 4 wins in 14 league games. From 2016 – 2020 they reached the playoffs every season. They failed to continue the same performance after that.

SRH beat RCB in the 2016 IPL final to lift their inaugural trophy.
