England beat Australia by 49 runs in the final test to level the series 2-2. Resuming overnight score of 135/0 Australia bowled out for 334. Chris Woakes named player of the match for his allround performance.
England dismissed David Warner (60 runs from 106 balls) , Usman Khawaja (72 runs from 145 balls) and Marnus Labuschagne (13 runs from 33 balls) quickly on day 5. Chris Woakes dismissed both the openers and Mark Wood got Marnus Labuschagne.

Steven Smith (54 runs from 94 balls) and Travis Head (43 runs from 70 balls) brought Australia by scoring 95 runs for the fourth wicket. Moeen Ali broke the partnership by dismissing Travis Head.
Australia then lost Steven Smith , Mitchell Marsh (6 runs from 9 balls) ,Mitchell Starc (0 runs from 2 balls) and Pat Cummins(9 runs from 14 balls) in quick succession. From 3/264 they stumpled to 8/294.

Stuart Board who announces retirement from international matches ended his career on high by picking the last two Australian batters to give England thrilling 49 run win. He dismissed Todd Murphy (18 runs from 39 balls) and Alex Carrey (28 runs from 50 balls).
