Resuming overnight score of 312/2 Y Jaiswal and V Kohli added another 38 runs before Alzarri Joseph dismissed Y Jaiswal for 171. V Kohli (76 runs from 182 balls) missed another opportunity to score a test ton. India ended the first session on 400/4.

Rohit Sharma made a surprise declaration when India taken 271 runs lead. Ravindra Jadeja (37* runs from 82 balls) and Debutant Ishan Kishan (1* run from 20 balls) were at the crease at end of Indian Innings.

West Indies batters has no answer to Indian spinners Ravi Ashwin (7/71 in 21.3 overs) and Ravindra Jadeja (2/38 in 21 overs). They completely demolished the West Indian batting line up in the second innings.
