Yashasvi Jaiswal (143* runs from 350 balls) and Rohit Sharma (103 runs from 221 balls) centuries and 229 run opening stand put India in commanding position against West Indies in first test. India were 312/2 at end of second days play.
Resuming overnight score of 80/2 Indian batted the first session without losing any wickets. Openers added another 66 runs to the total at the end of the session.

Yashasvi Jaiswal scores century on his test debut and become the 17th Indian and third opener to achieve this milestone. Indian captain Rohit Sharma scored his 10th test century.
Alick Athanaze broke the opening stand by dismissing Rohit Sharma for 103. Shubman Gill who came to bat at 3 failed to make an impact. Jomel Warrican dismissed him for just 6.
Yashasvi Jaiswal who batted through the day and Virat Kohli (36* runs from 96 balls) were at the crease at the end of days play. India lead by 162 runs so far.
