R Ashwin (5/60 in 24.3 overs) , R Jadeja (3/26 in 14 overs) , Y Jaiswal (40* runs from 73 balls) and Rohit Sharma (30* runs from 65 balls) helps India dominates Day 1 of the first test. India were 80/0 at the end of the day after bowled West Indies out for 150.

Elected to bat first West Indies failed to capitalize on it. Ashwin given India first breakthrough by dismissing T Chanderpaul for 12. West Indies lost four wickets in the first session for 68 runs. They lost wickets at regular intervals and bowled out for just 150.

Debutant Alick Athanaze (47 runs from 99 balls) was the top scorer for West Indies. Captain Kraigg Brathwaite scores 20.

R Ashwin continued his love against West Indies by picking another five wicket haul. It was his 33rd five wicket haul. He also become thrid Indian bowler to take 700 international wickets. R Jadeja give him good support with his spell of 3/26 in 14 overs.

S Thakur (1/15 in 7 overs) and M Siraj (1/25 in 12 overs) are the other wicket takers for India.
