Bowlers gives Australia upper hand after batters scores 469

Australia continues their domination on Day 2 also of the World Test Championship final 2023 at Oval. Resuming overnight score of 327/3 Australia bowled out for 469. They restricted India to 151/5 at the end of Day 2.

Indian bowlers executed their plans better on Day 2. M Siraj broken the T Head and S Smith partnership of 285 runs by dismissing T Head. S Smith who resumed his batting on 95 scored his 31st test century. S Thakur clean bowled him on 121.

Alex Carry (48 runs from 51 balls) helps them to finish on 469. M Siraj (4/108 in 28.3 overs) is the most successful Indian bowler. Shardul Thakur (2/83 in 23 overs) , Mohammed Shami (2/122 in 29 overs) and Ravindra Jadeja (1/56 in 18 overs) are the wicket takers for India.

Australian bowlers dismissed Indian Top order batters Rohit Sharma (15 runs from 26 balls) , Shubman Gill (13 runs from 15 balls) , Chetheswar Pujara (14 runs from 25 balls) and Virat Kohli (14 runs from 31 balls) cheaply. India were 71/4 at this stage.

A Rahane (29* runs from 71 balls) and Ravindra Jadeja (48 runs from 51 balls) build a good partnership of 71 runs for the fifth wicket. Nathan Lyon broke the partnership by dismissing Ravindra Jadeja.

The comeback man A Rahane was lucky that he was trapped infront of the stumps by Pat Cummins off a no-ball when he was batting on 17. India were 87/4 at that time. S Bharat 5*(14) remains notout with A Rahane 29*(71) at the end of day’s play.

Nathan Lyon (1/4 in 2 overs) , Cameroon Green (1/22 in 7 overs) , Scott Boland (1/29 in 11 overs) , Pat Cummins (1/36 in 9 overs) and M Starc (1/52 in 9 overs) are the wicket takers for India.
