Travis Head 146* runs from 156 balls and Steven Smith’s 95* runs from 227 balls unbroken partnership of 251 runs helps Australia dominates Day 1 of World Test Championship final. At the end of the day’s play Australia were 327/3.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma who won the toss and put Australia into bat. Mohammed Siraj dismissed Usman Khawaja for a duck early. David Warner (43 runs from 60 balls) and Marnus Labuschagne (26 runs from 62 balls) gives them the start they needed by scoring 69 runs for the second wicket. Shardul Thakur broke the partnership by dismissing David Warner just before the lunch.

Mohammed Shami clean bowled Marnus Labuschagne and gives India a perfect start after lunch. Travis Head who joined with Steven Smith scored runs quickly and put Australia in dominating position. Australia scored 97 runs in the post lunch session for the loss of one wicket only.

Travis Head and Steven Smith continued to dominate in the final session by scoring 157 runs in final session. The duo so far scored 251 runs for the fourth wicket. They finished Day 1 on 327/3.

Mohammed Siraj (1/67 in 19 overs) , Shardul Thakur (1/75 in 18 overs) and Mohammed Shami (1/77 in 20 overs) are the wicket takers for India on Day1.
