Akash Madhwal’s (5/5 in 3.3 overs) stunning bowling performance helps Mumbai beat Lucknow Super Giants by 81 runs in Eliminator. Elected to bat first Mumbai Indians set Lucknow Super Giants 183 run target and bowled them out for 101 in 16.3 overs. Mumbai will face Gujarat in second qualifier on friday.

Mumbai Indians lost both their openers Rohit Sharma (11 runs from 10 balls) and Ishan Kishan (15 runs from 12 balls) inside the powerplay. Naveen ul Haq dismissed Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma and Yash Thakur dismissed Ishan Kishan. At the end of the powerplay Mumbai were 62/2.
Cameroon Green (41 runs from 23 balls) and Suryakumar Yadhav (33 runs from 20 balls) put together 66 runs from 38 balls for the third wicket brought Mumbai back. LSG strike back by dismissing both of them in the 11th over bowled by Naveen ul Haq.

Tilak Varma (26 runs from 22 balls) and cameo of Nehal Wadhera (23 runs from 12 balls) who came to bat as an impact player helps Mumbai to reach 182/8 in 20 over.
Naveen ul Haq (4/38 in 4 overs) shines with the ball for Lucknow. Yash Thakur (3/34 in 4 overs) and Mohsin Khan (1/24 in 3 overs) are the other wicket takers for Lucknow.
Chasing 183 LSG lost wickets at regular intervals and they were never in the chase. They lost half their side for 75 runs inside the first 10 overs. Poor running between the wickets which ends in three run outs also cost them the match.
Marcus Stoinis (40 runs from 27 balls) is the only batter bated well for Lucknow.
Akash Madhwal’s dream spell of 5 wickets for 5 runs in 3.3 overs knocked LSG out of the tournament. Chris Jordan (1/7 in 2 overs) and Piyush Chawla (1/28 in 4 overs) are the other wicket takers for Mumbai.
