Faf du Plessis , V Kohli and M Siraj gives RCB 24 runs win against Punjab Kings

Virat Kohli lead Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Punjab Kings by 24 runs in 27th match of IPL 2023. M Siraj’s (4/21 in 4 overs) outstanding spell powers RCB bowled out Punjab Kings for 150 runs in 18.2 overs after setting 175 run target for them.

Virat Kohli lead RCB in this match due to injury concern for Faf du Plessis. He opened the batting for RCB but Later substituted with Vijaykumar Vyshak.

Faf du Plesis (84 runs from 56 balls) with 5 fours and 5 sixes and Virat Kohli (59 runs from 47 balls) with 5 fours and 1 six put together mammoth partnership of 137 runs in 16.1 overs. Harpreet Brar broke the partnership by dismissing V Kohli and then Glenn Maxwel 0(1) in first two balls of the 17th over.

Punjab Kings bowlers made a good comeback in the last five overs by giving just 44 runs and also they picked 4 wickets during this period. Harpreet Brar (2/31 in 3 overs) , Arshdeep Singh (1/34 in 4 overs) and Nathan Ellis (1/41 in 4 overs) are the wicket takers for Punjab Kings.

Rahul Chahar (0/24 in 4 overs) and Sam Curran (0/27 in 4 overs) went wicketless but bowled economically for their side.

Chasing 175 run target Punjab Kings lost Atharva Taide (4 runs from 2 balls) , Mathew Short (8 runs from 7 balls) , Liam Livingstone (2 runs from 4 balls) and Harpreet Brar (13 runs form 9 balls) inside the power play. At the end of the powerplay they were 49/4.

M Siraj bowled well in his opening spell of 2 overs by picking 2 wickets for 14 runs.

Excellent fielding by Mohammed Siraj and Wanindu Hasaranga ended Harpreet Brar and Punjab captain Sam Curran (10 runs from 12 balls) innings in run out. Impact player Prabhsimran Singh (46 runs from 30 balls) with 3 fours and 4 sixes and Jithesh Sharma (41 runs from 27 balls) with 2 fours and 3 sixes are the only batters batted well for Punjab.

Mohammed Siraj (4/21 in 4 overs) , Wanindu Hasaranga (2/39 in 4 overs) , Harshal Patel (1/22 in 3.2 overs) and Wayne Parnell (1/32 in 3 overs) helps RCB bowled out Punjab Kings for 150 and clinch 24 run win.
