After the opening wicket partnership LSG lost Ayush Badoni (1 run from 4 balls) , Deepak Hooda (2 runs from 4 balls) and Kyle Mayers (51 runs from 42 balls) quickly. From 82/0 they stumbled to 102/4. Marcus Stoinis (21 runs from 16 balls) and Nicholas Pooran (29 runs from 20 balls) partnership of 45 runs from 34 balls helped them to reach 154/7.
Spinner R Ashwin (2/23 in 4 overs) bowled beautifully by keeping things tight in his spell. Trent Boult (1/16 in 4 overs) once again done the job for his side. Sandeep Sharma (1/32 in 4 overs) and Jason Holder (1/38 in 4 overs) are the other wicket takers for Rajasthan.
Rajasthan Royals openers Yashasvi Jaiswal (44 runs from 35 balls) and Jos Buttler (40 runs from 41 balls) gives them a good start by scoring 87 runs in 11.3 overs. M Stoinis given LSG the much needed breakthrough by dismissing Yashasvi Jaiswal.
Rajasthan Royals also lost wickets quickly like Lucknow Super Giants after good opening wicket stand. They lost Yashasvi Jaiswal , Sanju Samson (2 runs from 4 balls) innings ended in runout , dangerous Shimron Hetmyer (2 runs from 5 balls) and Jos Buttler in no time. From 87/0 they stumbled to 104/4.
Devdutt Padikkal (26 runs from 21 balls) and Riyan Parag (15* runs from 12 balls) put together 37 runs from 26 balls for the fifth wicket brought them closer but Avesh Khan who bowled the final over to defend 19 runs given just 8 runs and picked the wickets of Devdutt Padikkal and Dhruv Jurel who got out for a duck.
