Markande, Tripathi and Makram helps Sunrises Hyderabad register first win in IPL 2023

Mayank Markande (4/15) , Rahul Tripathi 74*(48) and Aiden Makram 37*(21) helps Sunrises Hyderabad beat Punjab kings by 8 wickets and register their first win in IPL 2023. Shikhar Dhawan’s 99*(66) one man show helps Punjab Kings to reach 143/9 in 20 overs.

Punjab Kings didn’t got any momentum in their innings except the fire works from their captain S Dhawan in the final overs. They lost their opener Prabsimran Singh 0(1) in the first ball of the innings to B Kumar. Sunrises Hyderabad bowlers continously picked wickets at regularl intervals and put them under pressure.

Shikhar Dhawan’s innings of 99 runs from 66 balls including 12 fours and 5 sixes guides them to put a fighting total on the board from 88/9 at one stage. Sam Curran 22(15) is the only other batter who reached the double figure mark.

SRH pacers B Kumar (1/33) and M Jansen (2/16) set the momentum for them by picking 3 wickets in the power play. Spinner Mayank Markande continued the momentum by picking 4 wickets for just 15 runs in his 4 over quota in the middle phase of the innings further pushed Punjab Kings back. Umran Malik (2/32) is the other wicket taker for SRH.

Rahul Tripathi 74*(48) and Aiden Makram 37*(21) unbroken partnership of 100 runs from just 52 balls ace the chase easy for SRH. Their opener Mayank Agarwal scored 21(20) and Hary Brook who opened with him in this match scored 13(14).

Arshdeep Singh (1/20) and Rahul Chahhar (1/28) is the wicket takers for Punjab Kings.
