S Dhawan 86*(56) , Prabhsimran Singh 60(34) and Nathan Ellis (4/30) help Punjab Kings secure narrow five run win over Rajasthan Royals. After scoring 197/4 in 20 overs they restricted Rajasthan Royals to 192/7 and secure back to back wins.

Punjab Kings openers S Dhawan and Prabhsimran Singh set the momentum for their side by scoring 90 runs in 9.4 overs for the opening wicket. Prabhsimran Singh got out to Jos Buttler’s outstanding catch off Jason Holder broke the partnership. Punjab Kings captain S Dhawan batted through the innings and remains not out on 86.

Wicket keeper batter Jitesh Sharma 27(16) also given useful contribution with the bat for Punjab Kings to finish on 197/4.

West Indian all rounder Jason Holder (2/29) and Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin (1/25) are the only bowlers who bowled economically for Rajastan Royals. Y Chahal given 50 runs in 4 over spell by picking the only wicket of Jitesh Sharma. K.M.Asif and Newzeland left armer pacer Trent Boult went wicketless and given 50 and 38 runs respectively in their spell.

Surprisingly Chasing big total of 198 Rajastan Royals opened the batting with Ravichandran Ashwin instead of Jos Buttler along with Yashasvi Jaiswal. The move didn’t worked well in their favor as Ashwin got out without scoring.

Arshdeep Singh removed both the openers Yashasvi Jaiswal 11(8) and R Ashwin 0(4) cheaply and make early inroads to their batting line up. Later Nathan Ellis dismissed dangerous Jos Buttler 19(11) , Sanju Samson 42(25) , Riyan Parag 20(12) and Devdutt Padikkal 21(26) and push them 124/6 at the end of 15 overs.

Shimron Hetmyer 36(18) and the impact player Dhruv Jurel 32*(15) partnership of 61 runs from just 26 balls for the seventh wicket brought them closer to the target. Sam Curran who bowled the final over to defend 16 runs held his nerves and give Punjab narrow 5 run win.
