Lucknow Super Giants started off IPL 2023 with a thumbing win over Delhi Capitals by 50 runs. Kyle Mayers 73(38) innings guides LSG to 193/6 in 20 overs. Mark Wood (5/14) who took first five wicket haul in IPL 2023 helps LSG to restrict Delhi to 143/9.

Put into bat by Delhi Capitals captain David Warner, LSG opener Kyle Mayers 73(38) and Nicolas Pooran’s 36(21) explosive batting helps them to score 193/6. Khaleed Ahmed dropped a simple catch of Kyle Mayers when he was batting on 14 and Sarfaraz Khan missed a stumping opportunity of Nicholas Pooran on 10 cost Delhi Capitals badly.

Khaled Ahmed (2/30) , Chetan Sakariya (2/53) , Kuldeep Yadhav (1/35) and Axar Patel (1/38) are the wicket takers for Delhi Capitals.

Impact Player(LSG):- Krishnappa Gowtham in for Ayush Badoni

Impact Player(DC):- Aman Hakim Khan in for Khaleel Ahmed.

David Warner 56(48) gives Delhi off to a good start along with Prithvi Shah 12(9) by scoring 41 runs in 4.3 overs. Delhi lose their way after M Wood dismissed Prithvi Shah 12(9) and Mitchel Marsh 0(1) in consecutive deliveries in 5th over. LSG picked wickets at regular intervals and put Delhi under pressure through out the chase. Rilee Rossouw 30(20) is the only other batter who batted well apart from David Warner.

England Pacer M Wood(5/14) bowled a dream spell and register first five wicket haul in IPL 2023. Avesh Khan (2/29) and Ravi Bishnoi (3/31) are the other wicket takers for LSG.
