Gujarat Titatns and Newzeland batter Kane Williamson out of IPL 2023 with knee injury which he suffered during the first game against Chennai Super Kings.

Williamson suffered the injury when he attempted to take a catch at deep square leg boundary hit by Ruturaj Gaikwad. He landed hard on the ground and injured his right knee. Gujarat Titans brought Sai Sudharsan as impact player.

“It is sad to lose Kane so early in the tournament. We wish him a speedy recovery, with the hope of seeing him in action soon”, Vikram Solanki , Titans Director of Cricket said.

Willamson played for Sunrises Hyderabad in previous seasons and was roped in for INR 2 crore in this season by Gujarat Titans.
