Eliminated India and Afghanistan looks to finish the tournament on high

Eliminated India and Afghanistan will play their last match in Asia Cup-2022 and looks to finish the tournament on high. Both teams lost their first two matches in Super 4 to Srilanka and Pakistan.

India and Afghanistan started the tournament well with two consecutive wins in group stage and failed to convert it into super 4 stage. Both teams will now focus to fix their issues ahead of the T20 World Cup which is going to start next month in Australia.

K.L.Rahul who made a comeback into the Indian team after a long injury break so far not find his rhythm. In last five innings he had the scores of 30,0,36,28 & 6. Indian wicket Keeper batter R Pant not able to covert his great form in red ball format to the shortest format of the game. He had the scores of 33*, 44, DNB, 14 & 17.

Indian batting unit not able to score enough runs in last 5 overs in the tournament and the bowlers failed to restrict the scores 181 and 173 in super 4 stage lead to the early exit of current Asia Cup champions.

Afghanistan bowlers so far done an outstanding job in the tournament. Their bowlers almost defended the 129 against Pakistan. The heroics of Naseem Shah in last over turn the game in Pakistan’s favour. Afghanistan needs improvement in their middle order batting.

Both teams may make some changes in the playing XI. Match will begin at 7:30pm,IST.
