Axar Patel replaces injured R Jadeja in Asia Cup squad

Indian allrounder R Jadeja ruled out of Asia Cup due to right Knee injury. Axar Patel named replacement for R Jadeja. Jadeja played a crucial knock against Pakistan in India’s opening game on last Sunday. This is a huge blow for India ahead of super 4 stage.

Axar Patel who is replacing R Jadeja is in good form of late. He bowled well and played some crucial knocks with the bat when India tour to West Indies last month.

India already qualified to super 4 in Asia cup. In the group stage India beaten Pakistan and Hong Kong by 5 wickets and 40 runs respectively. Super 4 will begin from Sep 4 onwards.
