India – Australia Final in CWG for the Gold

India will face Australia in CWG final for the gold medal. In the semi-final India beat England by 4 runs and Australia beat Newzeland by 5 wickets. India and Australia played in the group stage of the tournament. Australia won the match by 3 wickets. Final will be played at Birmingham on August 7^th ,9:30pm (IST).

India beat England by 4 runs in semis

India beat England by 4 runs in a thriller enter into the final of CWG. Smrithi Mandhana’s 62(31) brisk batting and Jemminah Rodrigues 44*(31) helps India post 164/5 in 20 overs. in reply England fell short by 4 runs.

S Mandhana and S Varma given India a great start by scoring 76 runs in 7.5 overs. S Mandhana scored fastest fifty by an Indian in 23 balls. India lost some momentum after the dismissal of S Mandhana. J Rodrigues 44* and D Sharma 22(20) partnership of 53 runs from 38 balls brought India back set England 165 to win. Indian captain H Kaur made 20 off 20 balls. Freya Kemp (2/22) shines with the ball for England.

S Dunkley given England a quik start by hitting consecutive boundaries against Renuka Singh and Meghna Singh. H Kaur move to give the ball to the spinner D Sharma worked in India’s favour. She trapped S Dunkley infront of the stumps for 19. A Capsey and D Wyatt scored 34(20) balls for the second wicket before A Capsey run out 13. D Wyatt who looks dangerous was dismissed by S Rana for 35 and push England to 81/3.

A Jones(31) and N Sciver(41) parnership of 54 runs from 49 balls took the momentum from India. But Indian bowlers kept it tight in the last 4 overs when England need just 33 runs. 3 run outs in the innings also cost England a place in the CWG final. 14 to win in the final over England was able to score 9 runs and lost K Brunt. S Rana who bowls the final over held her nerves and kept India in the hunt for gold.

Australia beat Newzeland by 5 wickets

Australia beat Newzeland by 5 wickets and enter into CWG final. Sophie Devine 53(48) and A Kerr 40(36) helps Newzeland post 144/7 in 20 overs. M Schutt (3/20) shines with ball for Australia. In reply Australia chased it down in the last over with 3 balls ramaining.

B Mooney 36(29) , T Mcgrath 34(23) , R Haynes 19(18) and A Gardner 19*(20) are the main scores for Australia. L Tahuhu (/20) shines with the ball for kiwis.

Newzeland will play against England for the third place.
