Abdullah Shafique’s unbeaten 160* helps Pakistan to chase down 342 in first test against Srilanka at Galle. This is Pakistan’s second highest run chase in Tests. Needed 120 more on the final day’s play Pakistan reached the target with 4 wickets in hand. Abdullah Shafique named Player of the match.

Abdullah Shafique and M Rizwan resumed Pakistan innings on final day added another 54 runs before P Jayasuriya dismissed Rizwan for 40. Later Agha Salman (12) and H Ali (5) dismissed cheaply by P Jayasuriya and D De silva with still 41 more to win. M Nawaz (19*) who joined with Abdullah Shafique finished the job for Pakistan without any further damage.

P Jayasuriya (4/135) , D de Silva (1/33) and R Mendis (1/102) are the wicket takers for Srilanka in second innings. Srilanka had their chances in the match but poor fielding let them down.
