India women beat Srilanka women by 4 wickets in first ODI at Pallekele. Batted first Srilanka bowled out for 171. India chased the target down in 38 overs with 4 wickets in hand. Deepthi Sharma who shines with both bat and ball declared player of the match.

After elected to bat first Srilanka not able to score runs freely and lost wickets at regular intervals. Srilanka lost their captain Chamari Athapaththu(2) first to Renuka singh when the score reaches just 13. Nilakshi de silva was the top scorer for Srilanka with 43. Opener Hasini Perera (37) and Harshitha Samarawickrama (28) are the other top scorer for Srilanka. Renuka Singh (3/29) , Deepthi Sharma(3/25) , Pooja Vastrakar (2/26) , Harmanpreet Kaur (1/13) and Rajeswari Gayakwad (1/33) does well with the ball for India.

Chasing the target India lost Smrithi Mandhana(4) and Yasthika Bhatia ( 1) early. 44 runs third wicket partnership between Harmanpreet Kaur and Shafali Varma bought India back on track before Shafali dismissed for 35 by Ranaweera. Harmanpreet added another 62 runs with Harleen Deol for the third wicket. India then lost 3 wickets for just 15 runs. Deepthi Sharma 22*(41) and Pooja Vastrakar 21*(19) carried India home without any further damage.
